The British Embassy in San Jose recently celebrated its annual Queen's Birthday Party in the garden of the Ambassador's residence.  

Over 1,200 people came - a new record. The six hour event was organised mainly by community volunteers and includes theatre, dance, live music, children's fun and games. 

This year's theme was The Swinging Sixties and many people attended in fancy dress.

The Embassy would like to thank all volunteers, donors and sponsors for their help in what was a fantastic day that raised $19,000 for schools in need in the area affected by the Poas Volcano earthquake and other projects.
