The Age of Stupid Film Event (29/09/2009)
Approximately 200 of the movers and shakers in the Costa Rican climate change camp joined us
at the private screening of the global premiere event of the notoriously provocative British film
AGE OF STUPID at San Jose's Cine Magaly theatre on 22 September 2009.
At the event we also screened, for the first time in Costa Rica, a short we have dubbed into Costa Rican Spanish called ACT NOW from the Big Ask. This will shortly be screened on Costa Rican TV channels thanks to a strong relationship with a local NGO.
Additionally we screened
the trailer for the film Odyssey 2050 The Movie - a project that is being worked on by Bruce Callow, Efecto Reversible and Paco and has, so far, been supported financially by the British Embassy here in Costa Rica.
After the film we asked climate change expert Franz Tattenbach to give his opinion of the film and the Climate Change meeting in Copenhagen in December. That was followed by an open floor debate in which many people had a chance to discuss their concerns about the subject.
Thereafter we had a drinks reception so that people could continue to discuss the matter and network, thus making new contacts.
The event was a massive success. If you are interested in screening the film please visit the site www.ageofstupid.net for more details.
