Embassy launches green guides for Costa Rican Government (24/08/2009)
Ambassador Tom Kennedy and the Peace with Nature Initiative recently launched the Embassy-sponsored "Green Guides" which are being used within Costa Rica's public institutions with the aim of promoting environmentally friendly practices in the workplace.
To date more than half the country´s public institutions have developed environmental plans which will help them save energy, implement recycling programmes and reduce emisions.
Peace with Nature Coordinator Dr. Pedro Leon said that the country "needs to double its efforts to ensure that the entire public sector can be an example for all Costa Ricans and all sectors."
