Kindergarten rebuilt in Costa Rica (13/08/2009)
An earthquake shook Costa Rica in January 2009 causing destruction in many towns, including Vara Blanca.
The British Embassy and community, together with the Little Theatre Group of San Jose, undertook to help and raised enough money to rebuild the collapsed kindergarten of the Julia Fernández school, Vara Blanca. The new building was inaugurated on 25 July.
The Embassy has also helped with donations of school equipment to schools in the affected area.
