British Embassy in Costa Rica

From climate change and financial instability, to health pandemics and weapons proliferation, the UK´s national security and prosperity depend on our work with other nations.

Better World, Better Britain. This requires a modern and effective Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) that is clear about its role and focuses effort where it will make the most difference.

We play an active role in strengthening political and economic links between Costa Rica, Nicaragua and the UK. Our work includes providing commercial, consular, and information services.

Chevening scholarships

The British Embassy in San Jose in cooperation with the British Council and with the support of United Kingdom Universities offers the chevening scholarships financed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

These scholarships are offered in more than 150 countries worldwide and the British Government provides a limited number of scholarships in Britain for Costa Ricans and Nicaraguans as a prestigious award made for postgraduate or second-degree courses only and preference is given to students already established in a career.

The Embassy gives information about scholarships between October and January only.  Applications should reach this Embassy by the 15th of January for scholarships starting in October prior the year you would like to study in the UK.
